Visual/Human-Centered Computing Seminar with guest speaker Christopher Corsi, Clemson University

"My Summer at NetApp" by guest speaker Christopher Corsi, Clemson University.

Abstract: Christopher Corsi spent three months working as an intern for NetApp this past summer. NetApp is head-quartered in Sunnyvale, CA, near many other big players in the tech field such as Google, Cisco, Juniper Networks, and Silicon Graphics. They are a Fortune500 company specializing in storage solutions, and are well known for ONTAP and WAFL technology. To take advantage of increasingly pervasive flash storage they have launched Project Mars, the area where Christopher worked. It uses a log-structured filesystem layout along with classic NetApp technologies such as RAID-DP to deliver a high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable Tier-0 storage system.

Bio: Christopher Corsi is a 4th year undergraduate computer science major in Clemson University's School of Computing. He has been involved in graphics research since his Freshman year, working on projects for Toyota Racing Development, Weta Digital in Wellington, New Zealand, and most recently at NetApp.
