Clemson University

Sexual Violence and Harassment Awareness Program

National student safety expert Katie Koestner will share her experiences as the keynote speaker at the “No-Yes” program, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 in the Lila Holmes Ballroom at Clemson House.

Koestner herself was a victim of date rape. Her story is the subject of a 1993 HBO movie. Koestner has talked about sexual violence/harassment prevention and student safety issues to more than one million students at more than 1,500 schools across the nation and beyond. She will discuss her personal story and outline how to provide support to alleged victims when reporting. She will also address issues including bystander intervention and consent.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend this free program, which is part of the university’s sexual violence and harassment awareness initiative under Title IX.

The event is sponsored by Clemson’s Office of Access and Equity, Student Affairs, Chief Diversity Office and the Office of Human Resources.
