PENDLETON DISTRICT GEM AND MINERAL SOCIETY (PDGMS) presents "Soldering Techniques in Jewelry Making"

Special soldering techniques must be used to attach findings such as bezels, bales, and gemstone settings to complete a piece of jewelry.  Care must be taken to use enough heat to melt the solder without melting the finding.  This live demonstration will feature both typical situations such as attaching a bezel to a backing and more delicate tasks such as attaching a bail and pre-notched heads to a  salt casting we made at our February meeting resulting in something similar to the “Big Dipper w/ Arcturus" as shown.  The resulting piece will be given to some lucky lady.

Refreshments served; Visitors are always welcome!
