The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (pronounced Ol-VAY-us) is a comprehensive approach that includes schoolwide, classroom, individual, and community components. This program is focused on long-term change that creates a safe and positive school climate. It is designed and evaluated for use in K-12 schools and incorporates what researchers and practitioners have identified as best practices in bullying prevention and intervention.
The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program's (OBPP) goals are to reduce and prevent bullying problems among students and to improve peer relations at school. The Olweus program has been implemented in more than a dozen countries around the world, and in thousands of schools in the United States.
How do I apply for a Trainer Certification Course?
The Blended Learning Trainer Certification Course (BL TCC) is a training option for individuals interested in becoming a certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Trainer-Consultant. The course provides the same content in the same number of training hours but allows participants the opportunity to learn in part through digital and online media with an element of control over time, place, path, and pace. The Blended Learning Course includes 13 hours of asynchronous and independent study, 5.5 hours of synchronous learning, and 16 hours of face-to-face training all completed over a 15 month time period. This option is ideal for people who learn best when they drive their own learning as well as those will limited ability to travel for the 5 days required for the traditional In Person Trainer Certification Course.
