WHEN: Oct. 21, 2013 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Speaker: LCMG - Lorie McGraw

Take a walk through the garden of Downe House, the home of naturalist Charles Darwin. Most of the ideas that gardeners now take for granted were founded here. Examine examples of herbs gardening, weed competition theory, how earthworms work their magic, and how the study of the fertilization of orchids led to the discovery of a moth with an 11-inch proboscis. All set in the English country-house garden of the 19th century.
