Equity and Pluralism Speaker Keynote: dr. becky martinez - Race and Racism in Higher Education

We will be discussing Race and Racism in Higher Education, and how we can become stewards of equity and justice, as part of our Equity and Pluralism Speaker Series. The Equity and Pluralism Speaker Series seeks to explore the intersections of power and identity.

dr. martinez is a consultant and trainer with an emphasis on social justice, leadership and organizational change. Her work focuses on dismantling systems of oppression through critical dialogue and reflection intertwined with theoretical foundations. Prior to full-time consultancy, becky worked as a student affairs administrator at both public and private institutions in California and Colorado. She is currently a faculty member for the Social Justice Training Institute and a Co-Lead Facilitator for the LeaderShape Institute. She holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne, a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of La Verne.
