Dr. Gloria Needlman, an emeritus teacher from the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, is the recipient of several prestigious awards and has presented workshops across the country and in Canada. She has authored over 50 articles that appeared in teaching publications and journals and recently captured thirty-four years of extraordinary experiences through stories and photographs taken from her classrooms at the Lab. Her book, It’s Not Forsythia It’s For Me; My Years Teaching Young Children was written so her innovative curriculum, her insights into young children’s development, and her passion for teaching will live on now that she is no longer in a classroom and benefit many more children than the hundreds who lovingly called her “Mrs. Needlman”.
