The Division of Research invites you to come hear noted autonomous vehicles expert Chris Gerdes speak at 2 p.m. March 28th at the Watt Family Innovation Center.
A professor of mechanical engineering and director of the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford University, Dr. Gerdes served as the first chief innovation officer at the U.S. Department of Transportation and was part of the team that developed the Federal Automated Vehicles Policy. He continues to serve U.S. DOT as vice chair of the Federal Advisory Committee on Automation in Transportation.
Dr. Gerdes and his team have been recognized with a number of awards including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the Ralph Teetor award from SAE International and the Rudolf Kalman Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
