September 29, 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The two independent agencies were created in response to a movement calling for the federal government to invest in culture as it had in science. This exhibit commemorates the 50th anniversary by highlighting a few of the Clemson faculty and staff members who have received NEA or NEH grants over the past 50 years, as well as looking at the arts and humanities at Clemson through the years.
