The Clemson community will come together to celebrate the beginning of the school year and kick off the football season at the annual First Friday Parade on Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by Central Spirit and features community groups, university departments, Panhellenic and service sororities, and other student organizations.
New this year, all student organizations have the opportunity to participate in a banner competition that exemplifies the First Friday Parade theme. The theme for the parade this year is “The Stripes That Make A Tiger.” Just as a tiger is not complete without its stripes, the Clemson family is not complete without the diverse experiences and contributions of students and alumni.
If you want to be a part of this great tradition, please fill out the Friday Parade Participant Form before the deadline on August 21st. Click this link to register: https://clemson.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/form/start/176603
Immediately following the parade, the women’s soccer team will host Villanova at Historic Riggs Field. A pep rally will be held at halftime and the winners of the banner competition and Miss First Friday 2018 will be announced.
Friday, August 31 at 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Parade route begins at the NE corner of Littlejohn Coliseum, continues south on Centennial Blvd before turning left onto Ave of Champions. The route turns right onto Williamson Rd and ends at Williamson Rd and South Palmetto Blvd.
